Andi Brown, National Pet Advocate and Founder of Halo, Purely for Pets, Speaks on Behalf of Natural and Whole Foods for Your Dogs and Cats
(Tuesday, March 20, 2007) For Immediate Release—Recent commercial pet food product recalls have put dog and cat owners in a panic over the weekend. Meanwhile, Andi Brown, founder of one of America’s first holistic pet care companies, Halo, Purely for Pets, has been on a seventeen-year mission to educate pet lovers about the typical unsavory ingredients found in commercial pet foods, and teach owners about the power of feeding dogs and cats real, nutritious, wholesome foods. Andi and Halo’s primary concern is purely for pets, not profits — unlike some of the companies subjected to the recall. “It’s shocking what commercial feed companies can add to their food” says Andi.
Andi’s calling to help others arose when she believed the “premium,” veterinarian-prescribed, commercial food she fed her own cat was surprisingly contributing to his health problems. Along with a team of nutritional experts, she designed a wholesome chicken and vegetable stew, and her cat looked and felt better in a very short time. “I wanted to share my findings with everyone who was desperate to discover how to have healthier pets; and word spread quickly as others put their own pets on my natural gourmet food regimen.”
Andi subsequently founded Halo, whose natural gourmet pet foods with quality ingredients remain available to all pet owners who desire to shield their pets from the ravages of mass-produced foods such as those recalled last week. Andi states, “I recently wrote my book,
The Whole Pet Diet: Eight Weeks to Great Health For Dogs and Cats (Ten Speed Press), to counterbalance a commercial pet food industry that continues to churn out massive amounts of food riddled with inferior ingredients and high levels of unnecessary carbohydrates and fillers. Changing your pet’s diet is not a scary proposition. With Americans now lining up at Whole Food Markets® and other health food stores, why not embrace the same philosophy when it comes to the well-being of our pets?”
Seventeen years ago, Andi Brown started Halo in her living room with $3,000. Now she distributes over 1 million orders, with over 30 exclusive items, including her famous Spot’s Stew®, made entirely with natural, wholesome ingredients, and with no fillers. This natural chicken/vegetable meal was the turning point in her life and in the thousands of pets’ lives that she touched and helped make well. This is what makes Halo products unique and distinctive.
