Professional photographer Sylvia Elzafon has been fascinated with photography since she was in middle school. In 2005, she saw a way she could use her love for photography to help homeless pets - by photographing dramatic, emotional photos of shelter pets in order to remind the public of the tremendous number of pets who need homes.
While her original series was more serious, over time, Sylvia’s photographs evolved into her current playful, fun loving images, designed to showcase the wonderful personalities of the pets she encounters.
Sylvia hopes the photos will help increase adoptions and told the Huffington Post recently, “I've had a couple of friends tell me that, although they're not ‘dog people,’ the photos make them consider adopting one! In other words, this series is reaching people in a really fun and positive way.”
